This article explains how to effortlessly generate a custom QR code using the QR Code by Quickwork app.

- A Quickwork account and and familiarity with the platform's GUI.
Why QR codes are important
With QR Code by Quickwork app, you can create custom QR codes that generate a web URL linking to the QR image, scannable by any Android or iOS device.
QR codes are used to take a piece of information from a transitory media and put it into your cell phone. The reason why they are more useful than a standard barcode is that they can store (and digitally present) much more data, including URL links, geo coordinates, and text. In this way, a large amount of sensitive information can be hidden behind the unreadable QR with security keys and tokens code and can be transferred easily within permitted devices.
Where QR codes can be used
QR codes can be integrated into:
- Product labels
- Flyers and posters
- Event invitations
- Coupons or vouchers
- Social media IDs (for example, Twitter, Facebook)
- Links to videos or websites
With QR Code by Quickwork, you can create custom QR codes that generate a web URL linking to the QR image, scannable by any Android or iOS device.
Step-by-step guide
Configuring the trigger
- Under the Event section, choose the Scheduler by Quickwork app from the drop-down menu in the Apps field.
- Select the trigger event, New scheduled event, from the drop-down menu in the Triggers list.
- Set the Interval for One day as this journey needs to be executed only once per day.
- Set the date and time of your choice in the Start At field and keep the Custom Payload field empty.
Generating a QR code
- Under the Steps section, click on the Simple Action button and then choose the QR Code by Quickwork app from the drop-down menu in the Apps field.
- Select the Create QR code action from the drop-down menu in the Actions field.
- No authorization is required as this is an in-house app of Quickwork.
- In the Data field, enter the raw text or information you want to encode into the QR code.
Executing the journey
- Save the journey and click Save & Start.
- Go to the History tab and click on the most recent record.
- Expand the QR Code by Quickwork action to find the URL in the Output block.
- Copy the URL, paste it into your browser's address bar, and press Enter.
Scanning the QR code
Once the QR code appears, scan it using any Android or iOS QR code scanner app to access the encoded information instantly.
Your custom QR code is now ready to be shared and used effectively.
