This article explains how to scan and access the content encoded in a QR code created using the QR Code by Quickwork app.
Prerequisites
- A Quickwork account and and familiarity with the platform's GUI
Note: Ensure compatibility with Quickwork QR codes
The QR Code by Quickwork app only scans and reads QR codes generated using Quickwork. Attempting to scan QR codes from other sources will result in a null output.
If your journey requires both generating and reading QR codes, ensure the QR code is created using QR Code by Quickwork. Refer to the article How to create a QR code using Quickwork to understand how to generate QR codes.
Step-by-step guide
Use the same journey where you generated the QR code.
- Under the Steps section, click on the + icon, and then click on the Simple Action button.
- Choose the QR Code by Quickwork app from the drop-down menu in the Apps field.
- Select the Read QR code action from the drop-down menu in the Actions field.
- No authorization is required as this is an in-house app of Quickwork.
- In the URL field, either:
- Copy and paste the QR code URL from the Output block in the History tab, OR
- Drag and drop the URL data pill from the Create QR code action in the Data Tree Output.
Note: The QR code URL follows a format like: https://qw-resources.s3.ap-south-1.amazonaws.com/625fc08c-bfc0-4db4-81bf-b8e8391a6929.png
The QR code generated is in .png format, and its URL can be obtained from the Output block of the Create QR cCde action in the History tab.
Executing the journey
- Save the changes and click Save & Start.
- Go to the History tab to view the journey execution details.
- Expand the Read QR Code action in the Steps section.
- Check the Output block to see the encoded data from the QR code
