How to use Formatter by Quickwork for date and time conversion

This article explains how to use the Formatter by Quickwork app to convert date and time values from one format and timezone to another. For example, you can convert a date and time in IST to UTC by following a simple process.

Prerequisites

• A Quickwork account with basic knowledge of workflows and journey execution in Quickwork.

Step-by-step guide

1. Set up either an HTTP trigger or a Scheduler by Quickwork trigger to initiate the journey.
2. Choose Formatter by Quickwork in the Steps section and then Format date as an action.
3. Specify the value of date and time as per the format listed in the From format drop-down menu. For example, 2022-06-20 12:13:14.
4. Select the appropriate date and time format from the From format drop-down menu. Ensure that the value and the format must match else will lead to an error. 
5. In the To format field, select the format in which you want to get the date and time converted.
   
   
6. Save and start the journey execution.
7. Go to the History tab, click on the succeeded transaction, and check the Formatter by Quickwork Output to verify the conversion.
