Why do we need a scheduler
There are scenarios where journeys need to operate efficiently to assist users in staying on track with their tasks. From daily reports and attending meetings to conducting weekly audits or uploading files to an FTP server every few hours, there’s always a risk of missing important tasks due to distractions.
Quickwork's Scheduler by Quickwork ensures that your journey is triggered and executed automatically at the designated date and time.
How to schedule tasks with Scheduler By Quickwork
Scheduler by Quickwork comes with a single trigger event: New scheduled event. This feature enables triggering actions at specific intervals, ensuring seamless task automation. Here’s how to configure it:
- Go to Quickwork’s dashboard and create a new journey. Once you are on the new journey dashboard, choose the Scheduler by Quickwork app from the Apps drop-down field under the New Trigger button.
- Select the trigger event New scheduled event from the Trigger Event drop-down menu.
- In the Interval field, select the desired time interval in seconds, minutes, and hours from the drop-down field. For example, 5 minutes. The scheduler has the provision to select the interval for a day, week, month, and year as well.
- Select the exact triggering date and time via the date and time picker given in the Start at field. The date format is dd/mm/yyyy. For example, 08/03/2021 1:30 PM.
- Custom payload is an optional field available to provide additional data for the event, such as messages, labels, or plain text. This data will appear as a data pill for use in subsequent actions.
Journey execution
When Scheduler by Quickwork is activated:
- It triggers the first event at the defined start time (For example, 08/03/2021 at 1:30 PM).
- Subsequent events are triggered at the specified intervals (For example, every 5 minutes: 1:35 PM, 1:40 PM, and so on).
The scheduler ensures precise and consistent task execution, helping you stay organized and meet your deadlines effortlessly.
